Advertised 150 dirham oil change but I paid 320 – what gives?
I saw a Facebook ad for a “full synthetic oil change” for 150 dirhams including filter at a shop in Al Quoz. Sounded like a great deal so I went there this morning. When they finished, the bill was 320 dirhams. They said the ad was for “economy oil” and I have a V6 which needs more oil, plus there was a disposal fee, a shop supplies fee, and VAT. I feel completely ripped off. I’m looking for a place that does a no hidden fees oil change Dubai where the price they quote is the price I actually pay. I saw Dynostar’s oil change page and they seem upfront about pricing. Has anyone here found a trustworthy shop that doesn’t add surprise charges at the end? I don’t mind paying a fair price but I hate being tricked. What should I ask before agreeing to a service to avoid this happening again? Also is 320 dirhams reasonable for a V6 synthetic oil change including filter? I drive a 2013 Nissan Maxima. Thanks for helping me avoid getting scammed again.
