  Just bought a used Mk7 GTI in Abu Dhabi and the previous owner was suspiciously vague about service history

  Picked up a 2016 Golf GTI from a guy in Al Raha Beach last weekend and the price was decent and the car pulls like a train so I was pretty chuffed with myself until I started going through the glovebox paperwork and realized there’s basically nothing in there after about sixty thousand kilometers which is where we’re at now and I’ve got no clue when the DSG fluid was last touched or if the water pump has been done or anything really. The car drives fine no weird noises or warning lights but I know these EA888 engines can be a bit needy if you ignore the maintenance schedule and I’d rather not learn an expensive lesson the hard way out here in the desert heat. I’m looking around for professional volkswagen car repair services abu dhabi that actually know these MQB platform cars inside out because I’ve heard too many stories about general garages just throwing in any old 5W40 they have lying around and then acting surprised when the timing chain tensioner starts rattling six months later.
