  That’s been my experience as well. The initial setup with the API takes considerably longer, but the quality of the testing is on a different level. Once you have reliable historical data and meaningful execution statistics, it’s much easier to decide whether a strategy is actually robust or just looks good on paper. After spending hours working with charts, I sometimes take a break with something lighter like sweet bonanza candyland and, which has a surprisingly fun game-show format.
