  The difference a proper gearbox service made to my car’s smoothness is unreal

  I’ll be completely honest, I’ve been one of those people who neglected their car’s transmission maintenance because I just assumed it was one of those things that either works or it doesn’t, and you can’t really do much to extend its life. I’ve owned my 2015 Hyundai Sonata for about six years now and I’ve never once had the transmission fluid changed, which in hindsight was incredibly stupid of me, especially considering the stop-start driving I do every day in city traffic. Over the past few months I started noticing the shifts were getting a bit clunky, especially the 1-2 shift when the car was cold, and there was a slight delay when I put my foot down to overtake. I finally took it to a specialist that does car gearbox repair in sharjah and they recommended a full transmission service including draining the old fluid, replacing the filter, cleaning the pan, and doing a full adaptation reset to recalibrate the shift logic. I was a bit skeptical that a simple fluid service could make much difference, but honestly the car feels like a completely different vehicle now. The shifts are buttery smooth, the hesitation is completely gone, and the car just feels so much more responsive and refined overall. I actually regret not doing this years ago because I can’t believe I was driving around with old, degraded fluid for so long. The technician showed me the old fluid that came out and it was dark and smelled burnt, which was a real wake-up call for me to pay more attention to maintenance intervals. I’ve learned my lesson and I’ll definitely be sticking to the recommended service schedule from now on, but I just wanted to share this in case anyone else has been neglecting their transmission like I did.
